Presentation by Deborah Keene on Ayurveda.  Deborah is the owner and main teacher of the Ayurveda Yoga Center in Liberty Maine, (formerly known as the Inside Moves Yoga Studio).  She is a certified Ayurvedic Consultant, a Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist offering teachings, individual consultations and healing therapies.  She has been conducting classes, workshops

and working with individuals statewide for the past 26 years.

From Deborah’s brochure:  “Ayurveda means “science of life”.   Yoga means “oneness of body-mind-spirit.   They are sister sciences from India dating back 5000 years.  Together they form a holistic approach to health, healing and longevity.”

The medicine of Ayurveda is based on 5 elements:  Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth.   There are 3 combinations of the 5 elements which create our “Dosha” (to me this meant my default tendency or approach).  Paying attention to our “signs and symptoms” offers us clues as to whether we are in balance or NOT.    The key to health is to be in balance.

Deborah offers 1&1/2-2 hour initial consultations helping people identify their “dosha”which will offer tremendous insight into what will bring someone back into balance.  While there are guidelines; Breath, Diet and Lifestyle need to be personalized to the individual.

Deborah can be reached @ 589-4254 or on the web @  HYPERLINK
